Weekly Bulletin - September 16, 2018
Thank you to all of the families who joined us for Back to School Night. We are so grateful for your participation in our community. The Deal staff works extremely hard every day to provide our students with rigorous and engaging instruction, and appreciates your commitment to our partnership in education.
The International Baccalaureate Programme @ Deal
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. We have been an IB World School for eleven years, and are undergoing our second evaluation visit on September 20 and 21. At Deal, every student participates in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. As an IB-MYP school, we strive to ensure that every student embodies the IB Mission:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme Evaluation Visit
During the evaluation visit, administrators, teachers/staff, students and parents will participate in formal interviews. The visit will also include classroom observations, a tour of the school facilities, and a review of presentations and student work.
Our students are creative and thoughtful young people. By participating in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme at Deal, we hope to inspire them to think globally, listen compassionately, and act inclusively.
