Clap Our Students Back to School

Mayor Bowser in partnership with the Council has initiated a "Clap Our Students Back to School" event for Monday morning.  

At schools across the city, parents, neighbors and supporters will gather from 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM to greet our students and clap our kids back, surrounding them with encouragement and positive energy.   

Please consider joining us at a school in your neighborhood and spreading the word.  Join us if you have kids in the schools, and if you don't and never have or if like me, the school community was once central to your world, but that time has passed.  

A very negative narrative is being put forward about our city.  Let's show our kids and the world that we are about love and community.
