Deal Speech and Debate
Eighth graders Rohan Tatlow and Ava Chambers won Bronze, tying for third place, in Congressional Debate at the National Online Forensics Maple Invitational, a coast-to-coast speech and debate tournament held online this past Saturday, April 19.
Deal also had a strong showing at regional Metrofinals for the Washington Arlington Catholic Forensics League tournament last month in Sterling, Virginia. Deal students were the only middle schoolers competing there against area high schoolers.
Rohan Tatlow placed 3rd in Congress overall, 1st among middle schoolers and 1st among DC competitors.
Ava Chambers placed 7th overall, 2nd among middle schoolers and 2nd among DC competitors.
