Recommendations for High School
As you know, Deal is a feeder school for Jackson Reed! If your child plans to attend Jackson Reed, they will not need to complete an application for high school.
If your 8th grade student is applying to one of the DCPS application high schools through the myschooldc.org platform, transcripts will be automatically uploaded, so families will not need to request these documents. Non-DCPS high schools may require a middle school transcript as part of their application. Please send all transcript requests to dealtranscripts@k12.dc.gov. Kindly allow up to two weeks for processing. All requests will be fulfilled by our 8th grade counselor, Ms. Travers.
We are excited to support your students with the transition to high school, and we are working hard to make sure they are prepared for this next step. As part of this work, our team is supporting many students with high school application recommendations. Please know that our teachers are aware of and will meet the independent school recommendation deadlines. There is no need to follow up via email regarding these deadlines. We appreciate your trust and understanding as we manage multiple requests during this busy season.
