Summer Math/Physical Fitness Program at Deal

We are excited to share with you that Deal will be hosting a Summer Math Initiative for Learning and Engagement (SMILE) in July 2025.  

This is a 3-week program that will be taught in person at Alice Deal Middle School and will include math and physical activity/teamwork.

The goal of this program is to build students' confidence, performance, and overall abilities in math, as well as to build their physical wellness and ability to work in a team. In doing so, students will be allowed to strengthen their understanding of the math that they were introduced to this school year. They will be taught math concepts that will push them ahead in their next grade's curriculum.  

This program will run from July 14 to July 31; Mondays to Thursdays (8:45 am until 12:00 noon) at Deal.  

Students who do not meet their annual growth goal on the End of Year i-Ready assessment will be invited to participate in SMILE.
