26-27 ADCA / LSAT Open Positions

Be a Hero to your Kids and the Community!

The Alice Deal Community Association has two open positions for the 2026-27 school year:

Officer: Second Vice President - Community Events Lead

Second Vice President Community Events is on the ADCA Executive Board and oversees annual event planning and execution (day-of logistics, volunteer coordination).  Works with the Presidents, Treasurers, and rest of Executive Board to propose and manage budgets for events.  Coordinates with VP Communications to publicize events.  Annual events to include but not limited to: Grade Level Barbeques, Winter Market, International Night, Big Deal Day, and Gala/Auction.  Maintains vendor contacts and event documentation.

Committee Lead: Sports Liaison

Sports Liaison lead works directly with the Athletic Director at Deal.  Primary responsibilities include supporting each sports team per season (Fall, Winter, Spring) based on directions given by the Athletic Director.  Assist with uniform inventory, parent communication, game and event communication via ADCA channel, organizing and coordinating volunteers for Fall, Winter and Spring Sports Celebrations to include certificates, drinks and snacks.

Either ADCA position can be filled by one person or by two people as Co-Leads.  Interested parents for either the Officer 2nd VP Community Events or Sports Liaison positions should reach out to Amanda Provost at adcapresident@gmail.com

The Deal LSAT also has two openings for parent members to serve two-year terms starting Fall 2026.

The LSAT is a DCPS mandated group: "The Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) is a group of elected and appointed members that exists for every DCPS school. The team (formerly the Local School Restructuring Teams) consists of parents, teachers, non-instructional school staff, a community member, and in some cases students, to advise the principal on matters that promote high expectations and high achievement for all students."

The Deal LSAT meets monthly (lately, online, first Friday of the month 7:30-8:30am) and discusses academic and other matters of relevance to the School.  It is also heavily involved in putting together the School's Comprehensive School Plan in the fall and the budget in the spring, and often takes the lead in budget advocacy.    You can see more information, including minutes from past meetings, here: https://www.alicedealmiddleschool.org/lsat

Interested parents for LSAT roles should reach out to Keri Sikich at kwsikich@gmail.com by June 12. Please also draft a short bio outlining why you want to run and any relevant experience.
