2026-2027 Executive Board Candidates

Dear Deal Community, 

We are pleased to announce the following list of candidates for vote at this evening’s general meeting for the 2026-2027 ADCA Executive Board:

Katie Boehret, Co-President

Katie Boehret joins ADCA just as her kids — Liam and Harrison Sheives — come together again in the same school for eighth and sixth grade, respectively. She and her family moved to Chevy Chase, DC, in 2021 after 19 years on Capitol Hill, where Katie served terms on her DCPS's executive board first as communications chair and, later, as secretary. She currently serves as communications chair for Lafayette Elementary School's Home and School Association (HSA). As a recovering journalist and internal comms leader, Katie will prioritize clear, concise communication with the Deal community. She enjoys playing tennis, cheering for her kids in a variety of activities and listening to podcasts (IMOis a favorite) while walking her dog, Nala. 

Randy Huggins, Co-Treasurer

Randy Huggins was co-treasurer from 2023-2025 when his son Ben attended Deal, and he is returning now that his daughter, who wishes to remain anonymous (!), is a student here. He is also the co-treasurer of the Jackson-Reed rowing club. Randy's hobbies include movies, personal finance, music (old-school hip-hop, '80s pop, and one-hit wonders), and following the Ravens and Orioles. He lives in Chevy Chase, DC with his kids and his wife Madame/Señora Patricia Balestra, who teaches French and Spanish at Deal.

Erin Mohebbi, Secretary

A native of New Jersey, Erin Mohebbi is a longtime DC resident and DCPS parent with a rising seventh grader at Deal. She has spent more than 20 years working on health and development projects around the world. Erin enjoys traveling, music, learning new languages, swimming, and spending time outdoors. She lives in Friendship Heights with her husband, son, and cat, Licorice. A former four-time Janney Room Parent and current volunteer with several organizations, including her alma mater, Smith College, Erin is excited to join the ACDA Board as Secretary beginning in SY26–27.
