Speech and Debate

This weekend the debate team traveled to Westfields High School for the first Public Forum debate competition of the year.  Finishing the tournament with a winning record were the teams: 

  • Alex Eton-Melzi and Evelyn O’Flaherty-Horr  (Middle School Division) 

  • Sidney Gonzales Feria and Iris Campbell (High School Novice Division)

Both teams earned their first qualifying leg to the Washington Speech and Debate League Metro-finals tournament in February.  Congratulations!

Several teams finished the tournament with 2-2 records in the Middle School division, and they included:

  • Baz Batros and Asher Fristedt

  • Sam Fleischer and Sathvik Dudda-Gupta

Congratulations to everyone on a great showing!  Shout out to Mr. Stroud for coaching the team.
